CD-ROM "Musical Heritage of Kazakhstan"

First multimedia publication in the history of Kazakhstani libraries which contains more than 60 musical compositions of all genres of Kazakhstan's musical culture. The CD-ROM also contains information about 100 persons: composers, performers, researchers, young performers, as well as description of musical intruments, legends and history of musical compositions, explanatory dictionary of Kazakh terms, bibliography.

  • CD-ROM "The Electronic Archive of Kazakhstan"

    "The Electronic Archive of Kazakhstan" is the first electronic publication in the republic which contains 40 archival documents (total 168-pages) dating back to the XVIII - XIX centuries, which are contained in the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The documents reflect administrative work and records of the tsar's regime on the Kazakh Land, as well as correspondence of Kazakh political elite and officials of Orenburg, Western Siberia, Semirechye governorships. The documentary heritage which the CD-ROM consist of is also of great interest from the point of heraldry, genealogy view.

    The CD-ROM was produced within the framework of UNESCO CI "HeritageNet - Central Asia" project by the Foundation of Social and Human Sciences Informatization under informational support from the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    CDS\ISIS - an information retreival system, the universal tool for creation storages and information search in documentary databases. CD-ROM includes CDS\ISIS for DOS, CDS\ISIS for UNIX, CDS\ISIS for Windows (WinISIS) v.1.4. WinISIS contains English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Kazakh (files of the menu and messages are in folder:
    \cds-isis\windows\v1.4\language\russian) interface, the manual on localization is in folder:
    isis\windows\v1.4\language

  • CDROM is a training module at radio presenters. It introduces them to the concept of radio browsing and offers step-by-step guidance in making programme based on Internet Browsing.
    This CDROM will be adapted to Central Asia by the Osh Media Resource Center for state authorities with purpose to reach an agreement of setting up a community radio in Ferghana Valley.
    Activity was implemented by Osh Media Recource Center under supervision of CI UNESCO Almaty Office withing the framework of Action reinforcing the role of libraries, archives, information services and networks and community multimedia centres.
